REV GROUP’S BUS MANUFACTURERS SHOW 2016 MOMENTUM

Inspired by English painter David Hockney’s quote — “Art has to move you. Design does not … unless it’s a good design for a bus” — we’re taking a look at the latest designs from REV Bus Group in a two-part series. We started with Champion Bus and its new Squat®-kneeling technology last week. This week, we’re giving good design a polished twist.

Here’s a look at our REVamped luxury bus lineup …

REVAMPING OUR LUXURY BUS DESIGN

Krystal Coach, a long-time leader in luxury bus design, is getting a REVamped look. With production facilities moving to Imlay City, Michigan, the REV Bus Group decided it was time to improve upon the Krystal mold.

Krystal is partnering with Premier Products, known for providing the highest level of safety in belted motor coach seating, to create REV’s very own custom seat design, featuring a unique stitching pattern that will be exclusive to Krystal and sister brand Federal Coach. Meanwhile, the interior as a whole will be REVamped. Featuring a drop-down TV in the front of the bus, plus upgraded luggage racks with TV monitors, Krystal never runs short on entertainment features. A custom audio/visual cabinet hides electronics, as well as a trash receptacle, helping to reduce clutter. Watch out David Hockney, you might just confuse our bus design with a work of art.

Krystal Coach’s new molded fiberglass exterior will feature a large standard window in the front cap, along with side-cap windows. Sticking to Krystal’s luxury standards, the passenger entry door will continue to offer standard electric-slide operation. REV gave the bus industry a sneak peek of its new design at the 2016 International LCT Show. Watch for the full reveal later this spring!

The Federal Coach fiberglass caps also received a new look for 2016 to coincide with the brand’s redesigned logo. The new front cap features lights molded into the design, along with a reimagined slope that accommodates a front-viewing window, which is now standard.

The Federal Coach logo isn’t the only brand logo to undergo a redesign. In an effort to simplify the name that has become iconic in the heavy-duty bus industry, ElDorado National California is changing its logo to ENC. Sister company ElDorado National Kansas, a manufacturer of smaller transit buses, will keep its well-respected name but sport a fresh logo.

All of the new logos will integrate REV’s corporate colors to showcase each bus brands’ relationship to each other, making REV a force to be reckon with in the industry. Let’s just say good bus design has found new momentum at REV Group.
