PART I — DRIVING COMFORT FOR EVERY REV DRIVER

Perfecting the ride — it’s in our genes. At REV Group, Inc., our 23 vehicle brands take great pride in innovating comforts for every driver. Whether the journey is for work or for pleasure, we know nothing beats a really good drive, which is why we manufacture some of the most comfortable vehicles on the road today. Starting this week and into the next, we’re going to look at some of those innovations in a two-part series. So let’s talk driver innovations, starting with the dash…

A DASH OF INGENUITY IN OUR COACHES

In American Coach, one of REV’s four luxury motor coach brands, the 2016 American Eagle introduces an all-new dash with 10-inch monitors flanking the steering wheel column. The monitors — the largest navigation touchscreens in the RV industry — far surpass the typical 5-inch single display. The design also incorporates a sleek dash cubicle to house an iPad so that the front passenger can co-pilot the Eagle with two apps that operate the entire coach. First, there’s SilverLeaf Electronics, a sophisticated app that transforms knowledge into horsepower. Drivers can maximize fuel economy, traverse a hill with ease and monitor the engine’s every function. Meanwhile, the Creston App puts comfort — lights, shades, media, climate, security and more — right at the passenger’s fingertips.

The new dash design comes straight out of the UK from the premier design firm of ASTHEIMER, which attracts luxury clients like Ferrari, Maserati and Bentley. The automotive-style stitching of Eagle’s new dash sets it apart in the Class A industry, and in fact, this dash recently nabbed a Heavy Gauge Innovation award.

The innovations don’t stop there, though. In the 2016 Fleetwood Bounder, ASTHEIMER introduced a new dash to the Class A gas market — a sleek, molded cap that replaces the compartment hiding the engine. (Competitors still carpet this area.) Meanwhile, the Bounder passenger can enjoy a built-in workstation, complete with desktop, drawer and cup holder. It’s no reason the Bounder has been coined “The Motorhome that Works.” But it’s not just our RV drivers who enjoy the latest innovations …

THOUGHTFUL DESIGN IN MOBILITY VEHICLES

At ElDorado Mobility, the comfort of customers has long been a top priority for this lineup of REV wheelchair accessible vehicles. Built on a Toyota Sienna, Dodge Grand Caravan or Chrysler Town & Country, these conversion vehicles feature some of our most thoughtful driver innovations, carefully designed for our customers’ unique needs. ElDorado Mobility will unveil a new seat-based design February 17-19 at the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association annual conference in Dallas. The new design makes it easier than ever to remove the driver and passenger seats, allowing for wheelchair-forward design like no other. Additionally, ElDorado incorporates two different floor drops into its conversion design, positioning the driver with an optimal line of sight while driving, making it one of the most comfortable vehicles in the mobility industry. Dealers should also watch for an all-new air suspension system on ElDorado’s newest Toyota model at the Dallas conference. This system creates a comfortable ride, especially for those with spinal cord injuries sensitive to rough roads. This REV brand also works closely with its 140-plus-location dealer network to provide custom solutions for custom needs. These dealers can up-fit an ElDorado Mobility vehicle with driver essentials, like lockdown devices, hand controls and touchpad systems for every unique customer.

Like the mobility industry, REV is immersed in other specialty vehicle industries that call  for own one-of-a-kind driver innovations. Watch for next week’s blog to learn more about these driver comforts…
