OCALA, Fla – April 7, 2025 – REV Fire Group, which includes REV Group, Inc. fire apparatus brands E-ONE®, KME®, Ferrara™, Spartan Fire Chassis™, Spartan Emergency Response®, Smeal™, and Ladder Tower™, will showcase 14 of the latest in fire apparatus innovation and design including the Vector® pumper, the first North American-style all-electric fire truck, during FDIC International (Fire Department Instructors Conference) in Indianapolis, Indiana from April 10-12, 2025.
“FDIC is a key event for our REV Fire Group brands, allowing us to highlight what makes each of our brands unique and demonstrate how the apparatus can address the specific needs of fire departments to best serve and protect their communities,” said Chris McClung, vice president, REV Fire Group. “We’re excited to connect with our customers and introduce new fire departments to the innovative fire apparatus from REV Fire Group.”
In celebration of first responders and in keeping with the theme “Protecting Those Who Protect Us,” REV Fire Group will host its popular “REV It Up Series” on Thursday and Friday at 12:00pm. This will include the REV It Up Product Review with live product walk-arounds, including interviews with National Fire Radio.
Back by popular demand is the “Tiller Time Miller Time” Happy Hour at 2:00pm on Thursday and Friday which focuses on Tractor Drawn Aerial products, including this year’s new E-ONE TDA for the Jersey City (NJ) Fire Department.
The REV It Up Happy Hour at 2 p.m. April 10 will include a toast and celebration of the 50th anniversary of Spartan Fire Chassis, including a highlight of top innovations and recognition of longtime employees and customers. On display will be an All-Wheel-Drive Equipped chassis.
As part of the REV Innovation Showcase, the Charlotte (NC) Fire Department’s new all-electric Vector pumper will be on display at FDIC, and Roger Lackore, REV Fire Group’s Senior Director of Product Development, will be on hand to discuss its many features and answer questions.
REV Fire Group representatives will be present to discuss the unique features of each of the fire apparatus on display during the conference.

HOLDEN, LA – March. 6, 2025 – Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME), a subsidiary of REV Group and a leading manufacturer of fire apparatus, is pleased to announce Orange County (CA) Fire Authority has selected KME and its authorized dealer, Fire Apparatus Solutions, to provide the entity with 10 new custom Severe Service pumpers.
Orange County Fire Authority is adding these 10 pumpers as replacement trucks for its current in-service paramedic fire engine companies in Orange County, California.

These 10 pumpers will be a continuation of the significant design changes that Orange County has made to its fire apparatus since 2021, according to Battalion Chief Mark Backoff. These include Hendrickson SteerTek and FireMaxx suspension for an improved suspension ride, additional upper body storage compartments, a hose reel line, and a bumper line while still maintaining the Clean Cab concept utilized in its apparatus since 2019.
“As an agency with 78 fire stations and just under 200,000 incidents per year, these new fire engines will provide our firefighters the updated safety and technology features not currently enjoyed on our apparatus,” said Backoff. “This will give them the ability to serve our communities and citizens for the next couple of decades.”

BROOKFIELD, Wis – January 3, 2025 – William “Bill” Foster, a pioneer and icon in the fire industry and one of the four founders of Spartan Fire Chassis (formerly Spartan Motors), passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Mike Virnig, Specialty Vehicles Segment President for REV Group said: “Bill’s impact on the fire industry is immeasurable. He will always be remembered for his contributions, including setting the highest standards for professionalism, continuing training and education, exceptional customer service and dependability. Bill will be missed for his generosity, kindness and being a true gentleman.”
Foster served 27 years as a firefighter with the Delta Township (MI) Fire Department where he held many ranks including Assistant Chief. In 1975, Foster and three fellow engineers established Spartan Motors and built their first chassis for Covington (OH) Fire Department. From 1976, Foster served as a co-founder and Vice President and in 1978 became a Director on the Spartan Motors Board. Foster’s unique insights led to the development of specialized fire apparatus that prioritized safety and efficiency. In addition, Foster founded the annual Fire Truck Training Conference (FTTC) in 1994 to enhance the skills of emergency vehicle technicians (EVT) and help ensure the highest standards in vehicle maintenance and safety. For the last ten years of FTTC, an EVT has been awarded the ‘Bill Foster Award’ for exemplary service.
In recognition of his lifelong contributions, Foster received numerous accolades, including the Jim A. Bland Memorial Award presented at the Southwest E.V.T. Conference and a commemorative chrome fire hydrant at the Charlotte (MI) Fire Department, both in 2008. Foster also received a special award for his 30 years of commitment to Emergency Vehicle Technician training and education from the Fire Department Safety Officers Association (FDSOA).
